Event Forecast: Much better weather for St. Pat’s 5k in Providence

The second leg of the annual Tour de Patrick is Saturday, March 9 in Providence, RI. The St. Pat’s 5k race begins and ends on Smith St near the RI Statehouse. After the seemingly never-ending March Nor’easter, the weather should improve quite a bit by the time the race begins. It will be chilly for early-March, but at least there will be some sunshine. The breeze will still be noticeable at 10-20 mph, although that is a lot lower than what we’ve seen for the past few days. The wind direction is expected to be NNE, and since the race is run from east to west then west to east, the wind should not be a huge factor. The race begins at 11:15 am, and the Providence St. Patrick’s Day parade begins at 12pm. Here are the forecast details.
