Powder piles up at Maine ski resorts

Most of Southern New England has seen mild, wet weather from this early week storm, but Northern New England, particularly the mountains of Maine, have been picking up some a lot of snow at the ski resorts. The jackpot appears to be at Sugarloaf in Maine, where 16-20″ of snow has fallen, and it was still coming down Tuesday afternoon. The snow will continue to fall in Maine Tuesday night, and the final total at Sugarloaf could eclipse 2 feet! There is the possibility of more snow at some Northern New England mountains Friday into the weekend. Once again the storm will be moving to close to the coast for the snow in much of New England, but the cold air may hang on in the mountains. Check the snow report at Sugarloaf here.

Here are some Tweets from folks around Sugarloaf, and check out the FreshyMap for an updated radar and snow total from select New England resorts.
