Long Range Forecast – November 12

The weather looks relatively quiet this week, but, Right Weather Meteorologist Fred Campagna expects the action to pick up next week just in time for the big travel days before Thanksgiving. The early-week edition of the Long Range Forecast focuses on the weather for Thanksgiving week.

Here are the highlights of the forecast for the next two weeks:

  • Seasonably cool, but dry weather reigns from Wednesday through, at least, Sunday morning.
  • The wind will be out of the northeast, and there may be some low clouds from time to time.
  • A storm will slowly develop off the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic coast late in the weekend.
  • The storm should move north-northeast and come close enough to bring some wind and precipitation to the Mid-Atlantic and Southern New England sometime between Monday and Thanksgiving Day.
  • At this point, it doesn’t look like there is enough cold air in place for the precipitation to be frozen. A chilly rain is more likely, but some snow inland can’t be ruled out if the storm is persistent.
  • A brief shot of windy, chilly weather is likely as the storm departs.
